This seven day tour will take you to the Western Cape of South Africa. You’ll see all it has to offer on the best touring bike in the world, the Electra Glide® Ultra Limited.
This will be no ordinary tour. It’s been designed by Harley® riders for Harley® riders. We’ve used our extensive travel and tour experience to ensure that you have the ultimate experience and you’ll stay in some of the best hotels that South Africa has to offer.
Join us for the ride of your life.Day 1 Arrive in Cape Town on Saturday and check in at the Fire and Ice Protea Hotel in Cape Town. You’ll register and learn about the week ahead, including general information about South Africa, traffic conditions and behaviour, the route, the riding schedule and any important contact numbers you’ll need. After this, enjoy the welcome dinner at the hotel and get to know your fellow riders.
Day 2On Sunday, departure will be from the Cape Town Harley-Davidson® dealership. The route will take you through Worcester, the largest wine producing district in the country, where you will also be surrounded by majestic mountains and green valleys. Lunch will be in Swellendam. After lunch the route will take you via the Tredouw Pass through the Klein (small) Karoo all the way to Oudtshoorn, the Ostrich Capital of the world. That night, you'll stay at Buffelsdrift Game Lodge in Oudtshoorn, where elephants play in the water.
Day 3From Oudtshoorn you will pass the Outeniqua Mountains to George, where you will enter the Garden Route towards Knysna. An early lunch will be enjoyed. From Knysna you will head back south towards Arniston, via Albertinia, a town with an enchanting old-world atmosphere, which has a plethora of magnificent scenic views of the Gourits River and the coastline. You'll stay overnight at Arniston Hotel in Arniston, where humble thatched cottages dot the shoreline and rare shells lie in the surf.
Day 4From Arniston you will visit Cape Agulhas, the most southern tip of Africa, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans join. Lunch will be in Hermanus which is well known for the best land-based whale watching in the world. From there you will move back inlands through more magnificent passes towards Franschhoek, which got its name in the late 1600’s from the French Huguenots who fled France to avoid prosecution. You'll stay over that night at Le Franschoek Hotel.
Day 5From Franschhoek you will ride north to Paarl and Wellington, via the Bainskloof Pass to Ceres where lunch will be enjoyed. From Ceres you will ride further north into the Cederberg Wilderness towards Clanwilliam. The Cederberg Wilderness Area is a national asset renowned worldwide for its unique flora and fauna, unique rock formations and culture-historical manifestations. That night, you'll stay at Bushmanskloof. This is a spectacular place to stay, and was voted the number one hotel in the world for 2009 in the USA's Travel and Leisure awards.
Day 6From Clanwilliam you will head back towards Cape Town, via Malmesbury, a tranquil town with a rural atmosphere with its Mediterranean climate ideally suited for the growing of grain. Just before entering Cape Town, and if time allows, a quick stop will also be made at the Tyger Valley Harley-Davidson® dealership. Finally, the last stretch will see you returning to the Fire and Ice Hotel for a farewell dinner. You will depart back home on the Friday.
This tremendous adventure will stay with you for decades. The landscapes of the Western Cape make for amazing riding, with vistas you will not be able to enjoy anywhere else in the world. There are two options on this tour. With the flights included, the package costs £3,250 per rider, and £1,954 per pillion, with departure from London. If you prefer to make your own way to Cape Town and back, the cost is £2,385 for a rider and £1,462 per pillion.

2. Only a limited number of discounts are available, so we would encourage you to book early.
3. There is no cash alternative.
4. Only one set of discounts (i.e. one rider plus one pillion) per tour booking – i.e. multiple test rides will not entitle the rider to additional discounts.
5. If you wish to take up the offer of a discount, following your test ride you should contact Rider Services on 00800 1111 2223 and quote the code provided in your post test ride email. You will then be provided with details of how to book the tour at the discounted rate.
6. There is no obligation for the person taking the test ride to be the one taking advantage of the discount. The person taking the test ride is free to pass the benefit of the discount to a friend.
7. The discount is subject to the person wishing to book the Tour being eligible to take part in the tour and to the booker agreeing to the Tour Operator’s terms and conditions for travel – contact Harley-Davidson Rider Services for details of tour eligibility criteria.
8. The booking with the Tour Operator must be placed for travel before 31 May 2010.
9. If a £500 rider discount and further £120 pillion discount are being claimed, the rider and pillion passenger must be traveling together.
10. The full, non-discounted price of the Tour for a single rider is £3,250. With the discount, the price will be £2,750.
